Photoshop Elements Workshop
offered by the Genealogical Society
The Lycoming County Genealogical Society is offering a“hands-on” workshop of the software program: Photoshop Elements on Saturday, June 2, 2012, from 1-4 p.m., at the Taber Museum, 858 West Fourth Street. The workshop instructor is Wayne Palmer, of Palmer Multimedia. Wayne was the co-author for Photoshop Restoration & Retouching, 3rd Edition and has served as a technical editor for over a dozen books on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Elements software programs as well as digital photography.
Photoshop Elements is a popular program for non-professionals to manipulate digital photographs and files. Sizing, cropping, enhancing, cloning, masking, and understanding layers are among the topics that will be covered. Wayne will provide practice files for the group’s participation in learning the software program. The three hour workshop is open to the public with a fee of $25 per person to attend. Members of the society will receive a reduced price of $12.50. Please contact the genealogy society at lycominglineage@gmail.com or 570-326-3326 to pre-register, or if you have any questions. Pre-payment is required to hold your spacefor the workshop.
Workshop participants are required to bring a laptop computer, with the 30-day trial version of Photoshop Elements, version 10 already downloaded or installed. This version of the software can be found at the Adobe Photoshop Elements website. If you need the CD version to download, notify us with your payment. We can provide one, but it must be downloaded before the program begins and downloading may take an hour or more. Using the trial version in the workshop will allow participants to see the broad range of the program’s features and to learn and use the program, before purchasing it.
